Meet the Team

“Each and every day, we choose to take the extra time and resources to serve only all-natural pastries made by hand to maintain the authenticity of our ancient inspiration.

In the ten years at Tal’s, we’ve expanded our pastry shop to now include breakfast and lunch, classic Israeli catering, and baking classes for both children and adults in our community.

With our community focus, commitment to natural cooking and trustworthy service, I’m proud to say that Tal’s has become a neighborhood staple. We hope you come visit us soon.”

Tal Sendrovitz

Owner

Tal Sendrovitz grew up in Haifa, Israel and had a career as a successful Mechanical Engineer.

At age 30, Tal moved from Israel to the U.S. and soon after, she left the corporate world to raise her son and two daughters. Upon returning to work, Tal’s passion and creativity drove her to permanently end her engineering career. In 2012, she opened Tal’s Patisserie to bring the culinary comforts and hospitality from her hometown in Israel to California.

Tal opened her bakery with the inspiration and excitement that was ignited during her world travels at age 23. She builds her catering, cake, and cafe menus with the inspiration of Mediterranean, French, and Israeli cuisine.

Some of Tal’s favorite bakes include Israeli and Jewish delicacies such as Hamentaschen, Rugelach, Bourekas, and Babkas.

Tal’s is a place where the community comes together to talk, laugh, learn, and enjoy incredible breakfasts, lunches, pastries, and sweets.

Jessica Vargas

Bakery Manager, Head Chef

Jessica is the Head Chef and Baker of Tal’s breads, desserts, meals, and catering. She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu with degrees in Business and Pastry.

Jessica discovered her talent for cooking and baking as a child of Portuguese heritage where hospitality and cooking are one and the same.

Jessica’s grandfather exemplified cooking with fresh ingredients from his garden, while her grandmother taught her how to bake classic Portuguese treats. Inspiration from her grandparents’ recipes can be found in many of the baked goods you see on shelves at Tal’s today.

Some of Jessica’s favorite bakes include Custard Tarts, Chocolate Mousse Cakes and Challah Bread.

From innovating menus and managing operations, to baking up a storm, you will find Jessica anywhere and everywhere at Tal’s.
